Eyebrow threading

Alright ladies, this one is for you.

Living in such an international city allows exposure to international beauty techniques which I would probably never consider in Minneapolis, MN!!

Now I believe I'm a relatively low-maintenance girl.  I put off getting my hair cut for months, I don't maintain the coloring that I do, I never do "spa" experiences, don't have my nails done, facial treatments, don't do much with my hair, sometimes go without makeup, etc.

However I do enjoy having my eyebrows waxed for special occasions, and I pluck/groom them on my own most of the time....

I learned about eyebrow threading here.  At first I thought it was actual stitching of your eyebrow - ouch and yuck.  However, it is simply a technique using string to extract and shape the eyebrow hairs!  And it's magnificent, I have to tell you!

It's really interesting....

"Threading" as it is called, is an ancient method of hair removal which originated in parts of India.

It's much quicker, easier and less painful than waxing, and better results.

It's so popular here that there are people have little kiosks set up with a salon chair in malls and other open spaces and you can just stop by for a quick threading on your way to grab your groceries!  Yesterday I saw a man having his brows threaded after I grabbed a few items at Sainsbury's!

So there you have it, a little secret of mine....I get my eyebrows threaded, and I love it!

  1. They have eyebrow threading here as well, but it's not as prevalent. That's wild that they have kiosks! :) I'll have to try it as I must say the waxing process is not much fun -- plus you have red skin that shouts "just got my brows waxed!!!" for an hour after. Thanks for the tip. :)

  2. Just goes to show that I'm clueless, I don't ever remember hearing about threading when we were still in MN...it's so easy and painless and quick, seriously...usually less expensive too.
